McTeacher Night
 
HNR McTeacher Night! How about a night off from kitchen duty?? Looking for some family time? What about connecting with other HNR families?  Here is the perfect event to hit all three requests!  McTeacher night!  Save the date of Thursday, April 25th from 4-7 pm to plan on attending our annual McTeacher night at the Hartford McDonalds!  The best part is that you will be served by the Teachers and Staff, eat dinner with them and also HNR will receive 20% of all sales!  Won't you consider dinner and family fun at McDonald's on April 25th?

SPRING Music Concerts! The Spring Music Concerts are coming up quickly!  Both concerts will be held at Honor Intermediate.  To help with parking, etc. please make sure and head toward the back parking lot in order to fit as many cars as possible.  Also, parking on the grass is allowed.  Doors will open at 5:30 each night, so plan accordingly.  Thank you!
 
ELEMENTARY SPRING CONCERT (5K - 4TH grade students):  Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:00 pm 
INTERMEDIATE SPRING CONCERT (5th, 6th, Choir and Band): Wednesday, May 1st at 6:00 pm

 
PTO Bingo Bash:  Save the date of Thursday, April 18th for the HNR Bingo Bash!  This is a family fun event and we encourage your family to invite grandparents, neighbors, friends, family and more!  Check out all the details on the Bingo Bash webpage here!

HNR Hearing Screenings for 2024:  

Hearing screenings will take place at Honor Elementary on Monday, April 29th and make-ups Friday,May 3rd of 2024. 4K-2nd grade students will be automatically screened. If you would like your child in any other grade to
be screened, please reach out to Mrs. Blanton: [email protected] and she will include them. If you do NOT want your child to participate, please fill out the form below and turn it into the Elementary office before April 29th.  

 
The staff at HNR "Hit it Out of the Park" each and every day for our students, and for that we are so grateful!  This year we are changing things up a little as we say thank you and show them how much they truly are appreciated!  The PTO is planning a "GRAND SLAM" week to shower the teachers and staff with our gratitude, but we need your help!  Check out the details on the PTO Teacher Appreciation webpage!

 
A Big Thank You to our recent donors who have pushed the movement up the slide on our fundraising goals!  Thank you to Woodland Fire Department, Modern Woodman and Grande Cheese.  We are excited that our efforts are making things happen, do you know anyone or any company that would like to help rebuild the playground to make it useable again for our students??  Pass on the information or reach out with information to connect with businesses, neighbors and friends to help to reach the goal!  Please see the flyer below, or use the QR code below to make that donation.

Field Trips
1st Grade Field Trip to the Jack Russell Library:  On April 19, 2024, the 1st grade class will be participating in a field trip to the Jack Russell Public Library in Hartford to learn more about a library and reading.  They will leave school at 12:30 and return by approximately 2:30.  
 
2nd Grade Field Trip to the Horicon Marsh & Explorium: On April 26, 2024, the 2nd grade class will be participating in a field trip to the Horicon Marsh & Explorium to learn about local habitats, life cycle, food chain and animal tracks.  They will leave school at 8:30 am and return by approx. 2:30 pm.  All students and chaperones will need to pack a bag lunch and dress for the weather. 
 
5K Field Trip to Eberts and Honey Acres: On April 30, 2024, the 5K class will be participating in a field trip to Ebert's Greenhouse and Honey Acres to learn more about living things/ plants/ agriculture / bees.  They will leave school at 8:30 and return by approx. 2:00 pm.  All students and chaperones will need to pack a bag lunch, and dress for the weather.

HUHS 101: Incoming Freshmen Parent Event:  Calling all 8th grade students and their families!  Please plan to attend the Incoming Freshman Parent Event at HUHS on Wednesday, April 24th from 5 - 7 pm.  Scan the QR code for all the details, including updated detail as the event gets closer!

HUHS Cabaret Night: HUHS and the Hartford choral Music Parents present Cabaret Night / an evening of music, entertainment, desserts and hors d' oeuvres.  Presale cost is $15 / at the Door $20.  Performances begin at 7:00 pm

HEAT Inc. Tennis Club, held at HUHS Tennis Courts: 
 
A message to Parents, players, coaches, and tennis supporters,
 
We are proud to announce our first ever HEAT Summer Tennis Camp on Tuesday through Thursday, June 25 - 26 - 27 at Hartford Union High School where there are 16 courts on site. This Tennis camp opportunity is appropriate for ALL ability levels! 
 
Players entering grades 3 - 7 will be from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. each of the three days. Players entering grades 8 - 12 will be from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. each of the three days. Friday, June 28 will be a rain date.
 
Players will receive instruction, do engaging drills, have lots of fun, competitive on court activities and have lots of singles and doubles play opportunities against other players. Players signing up by June 7th will receive a t-shirt, a racket grip and a vibration dampener. Other prizes and awards will also be given out.
 
Cost is $150 for the 9 hours of fun and lots of tennis. The camp will be instructed by High School Coaches and college tennis players.

NEOSHO/RUBICON HISTORICAL SOCIETY:  In our small community we have a fantastic gem, the Neosho/Rubicon Historical Society.  Lots to discover from the past eras in Neosho/Rubicon, visit their webpage here for all the details!

Neosho Utopians 4-H - If interested in joining Neosho Utopians 4H Club, please contact Brenda Conley [email protected] or 920-625-3691 for more information.  The Utopians meet the first Thursday of every month starting on September 7th at 6:30 pm in the HoNoR Elementary gym.  The Neosho Utopians meetings begin run September - June.
