Academic and Career Planning

Academic and Career Plans (ACPs) are required of every student in grades 6-12. An ACP is a process that helps students engage in academic and career development activities and an e-portfolio product that is created and maintained for the student’s academic, career and personal advancement. The ACP Model is Know-Explore-Plan-Go. Here at Honor Intermediate, students in guidance classes utilize the software Career Cruising to maintain their e-portfolios. Students may also participate in field trips to area businesses to increase their knowledge of different career areas.  Honor school students have completed some assessments and are becoming more familiar with the Career Cruising program.  Eighth grade students will be getting an introduction to a four-year plan for high school. This will assist them in envisioning and planning for possible post secondary options.  They do not have to narrow down a specific career at this time, but by taking the appropriate courses in high school, students are better prepared for wherever their career path leads.  If you would like more information regarding ACPs, please visit the website dpi.wi.gov/acp.
