Description
Due to an unexpected medical leave, HNR is seeking a full-time, subsitute, 6-8, mathematics teacher, most likely through the end of the 2023-24 school year. The teacher on leave remains involved with curricular planning, grading, so this is an outstanding opportunity to learn and grow within a supportive environment. While a WI short-term substitute license is required, a teaching certfication, for grades 6-8 in mathematics or a related field, is preferred. Depending upon credentials, the successful candidate may be eligible for fringe benefits.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Wisconsin subtitute teacher license in the grade levels and areas assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful experience as a middle school mathematics teacher
WI certification for 6-8 mathematics teacher

ESSENTIAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches knowledge and skills in mathematics, utilizing curriculum designated by HNR (Illustrative Math) and other appropriate learning activities
Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of HNR
Works cooperatively with other teachers in planning and implementing a balanced mathematics education program
Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of various mathematics practices
Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment
Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and instructional areas to ensure the overall safety of students
Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary
Maintains control of storage and use of school property
Evaluates each student’s growth in skills, knowledge and contribution to classroom environment
Communicates with parents and school staff on student progress
Cooperates in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom activities
Participates in faculty and/or district committees and the sponsorship of student activities
Performs other duties as assigned
