Greetings HNR Students, Staff, Parents, and Community Members:
First, I want to thank the HNR School Board members, and many community members, parents, teachers, and staff with whom I have had the pleasure of meeting over the past few months. My family and I are very excited by my opportunity to serve as superintendent of the HoNoR School District. Throughout the vetting process, I spent significant time learning and experiencing these outstanding communities, and my positive perceptions continue to be affirmed every day through continuous dialogue and engagement. I look forward welcoming all our students and staff back for an energetic and exciting 2020-21 school year!
Over the next few months, I will be setting up opportunities for us to meet and discuss your ideas and perceptions of HNR schools and how we can work, together, to continue excellently serving all students, staff, parents, and the community. Our partnership in our children’s education is essential to ensure equitable opportunities as well to empower all to contribute to dynamic, authentic, and meaningful learning experiences within and beyond the walls of our school buildings. As caregivers, adults, and teachers, we must be committed to seeing our classrooms through the eyes of all of our students and empowering the students, themselves, as their own best teachers. After all, students only learn when they think they can, so we must always show, tell, and enable our children to succeed. Like our mascot, the Phoenix, there is no limit to how high our students will rise when we unite as ONE HoNoR. We are ONE Team, with ONE Goal, to be the number ONE school district for our students, which is why we have “o” in the middle of our name.
Again, thank you for this opportunity and for entrusting me with your children and the bright futures of our communities. I have no doubt that we will accomplish great things together and look forward to our continued journey as we all learn and grow, together. It truly is my HoNoR to serve you as the superintendent of schools and principal of HoNoR Elementary.
